Are you looking for a good melodramatic tearjerker, with a story full of heart and emotions? Well here you go!
Auli'i Cravalho as Amber Appleton is fantastic in this film! Charming and delightful. It’s hard not to be completely invested in what happens to her character.
The third act. Loved the third act of this movie.
There’s a monologue that Rhenzy Feliz’s character makes during that third act which I think needs to be heard by so many people.
For a coming-of-age teen story, I thought this had a lot of good themes and messages worth watching the movie for.
Those of you who manage to keep a happy and optimistic attitude in spite of how the world feels tough and makes you work harder than you should ever need to work… this movie is dedicated to you.
NEGATIVES…
There’s a certain point where you just have to ask, “can a movie be too sad, that it becomes a little too over the top sad?”
Unfortunately, it felt like Rhenzy Feliz’s character was a little too underwritten for most of the movie.
I was waiting for a pay off that never happened.
Kinda wished there were more songs.
