- the Winchester house is undeniably a good setting for a haunted house story
- Helen Mirren and Jason Clark make the best out of the weak script
Negatives
- relies too much on jump scares and plot conveniences
- doesn't really give us enough creepy scenes
- feels like a wasted opportunity of not providing genuinely scary moments considering the setting and the decent premise of a plot
- a generally forgetful story
- you're better off just reading the history of the house, or visiting it in person
- it was a little distracting hearing some dialog in the movie that alludes to the gun-control debate topic
